Bukayo Saka’s hat-trick gave England their first-ever World Cup bronze in a 6-4 thriller against France, but did anyone else feel like we were watching a Nigerian son carry an English nation on his back? With France’s Kylian Mbappe breaking the all-time World Cup scoring record in the same match, does this just remind us how far we are from having our own players in these moments, or is it enough to just cheer for the diaspora?
