Sam Amadi says Nigeria's anti-corruption war is just political revenge
4 months ago
The Director of Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, Sam Amadi, has publicly stated that what Nigeria calls a war against corruption is nothing but a political fight back. He made this remark yesterday on Arise Television's Prime Time. According to Amadi, those whose assets are being forfeited to the Federal Government are people who have left the government, while many still serving with active EFCC cases walk freely.
He specifically pointed out that if former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami was still working with this government, nothing would happen to him. Amadi also said the Senate President has EFCC cases that aren't progressing, and almost everyone in this administration has unprogressive cases. He argued that if corruption were to be fought truthfully, transparent and accountable systems need to be set up first.
So the question is simple: is the EFCC really after corruption, or just after people who have fallen out of favour with the people in power?
