Mary Habila's father begging police to release her body for burial

Mary Habila's own father, Mr. Tanko Habila, went to Force Headquarters Abuja on Friday to petition the IGP Olatunji Disu. The man is literally begging them to release his daughter's corpse so they can bury her. The nurse died on June 27 in Ebonyi State at the residence of Minister of Works David Umahi.

The family don follow all the police procedures but they still dey hold the body. The father said, 'As we are standing here, somebody can fall and die. It has happened. All we want is her body to be buried.' Meanwhile Minister Umahi's lawyers are demanding an autopsy before release. But the family says no based on their cultural and religious beliefs. Even Mary's colleague Anita Baaki confirmed she worked for the minister for three years as a nurse, not somebody just brought in.

So who is really benefiting from keeping this woman's body? The family just wants peace to bury their daughter. Atiku already called for Umahi's suspension over this matter but a legislative aide said that's putting the cart before the horse. Nearly two weeks and this girl still dey morgue. Which kind justice be this?
