Japa is overrated, I swear , staying in Naija is the real flex

My guy, I have been thinking about this japa matter and I don't get the hype. Everybody wants to run to Canada or UK like life is sweet there. I have a cousin in London, the guy works three jobs, shares a room with two other Nigerians, and still sends money home crying. Meanwhile my friend who stayed in Enugu and learned tailoring is now a boss with three apprentices.
I am not saying Nigeria is paradise. But if you have sense and hustle, you can build something here. The people who are winning in this country are not the ones with foreign degrees, they are the ones who understood the system and worked it. My mentor told me something that stuck: "Emeka, the same energy you will use to japa, use it to build here first."
Abeg, who told us that suffering abroad is better than building at home? I am not against travelling for education o, but this blind japa mentality where people sell their parents' land just to go and wash plates in another man's country? Na wa. Who else is tired of this narrative?
