N210bn missing in budget and nobody is asking questions
4 months ago
Atiku dropped a bomb yesterday. He is alleging over N210 billion in duplicated allocations in the 2026 budget. The man said Nigerians have been suffering for three years under this government and now they cannot explain where this money went. He called it a systemic breakdown in budget discipline, not just clerical errors.
I have been watching this since Saturday when his office released the statement. Atiku said families are skipping meals, parents cannot pay school fees, small businesses are closing. Yet the same government asking us to bear hardship cannot account for N210 billion in overlapping budget lines. He even called for a forensic review by the National Assembly and the Auditor-General.
If this is true, who approved these duplications? And how many classrooms, hospitals, and roads does N210 billion represent? Atiku said a nation cannot budget for waste and expect prosperity. I am tired of hearing promises while our commonwealth disappears. Who is going to answer for this?
