The CBN confirmed to the House that two foreign currency accounts were opened for the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council after a formal request from the Accountant-General's office, but the council never provided authorised signatories, so the accounts sat empty with no deposits or transactions. This raises a bigger question: if the accounts were never active, where was the supposed fraud, and why are we only now hearing about an agency that operated without a valid legal framework? Is this a case of bureaucratic incompetence or a deliberate setup to shield someone?
