Peter Obi signed a deal to serve only one term — Kwankwaso just revealed it on TV
4 months ago
Rabiu Kwankwaso went on Channels Television yesterday and dropped something that should make every Obi supporter sit up. He said he and Peter Obi signed a written agreement that Obi will serve only one term from 2027 to 2031, after which power returns to the North. This is not hearsay. Kwankwaso said it plainly on Politics Today.
According to him, they signed two copies — one for the party and one personal agreement between the two of them. He said, and I quote: "We have signed one for the party, and we have done another one between the two of us." He also expressed confidence that Obi will not change his mind when the time comes, calling them "gentlemen."
Now here is my question. If this is true, why was it kept from the public until now? And more importantly, are we voting for a president or a placeholder? A four-year single term means the real business of governance starts from day one with an eye on the exit. That is not how you fix a country like Nigeria. What do you make of this arrangement?
