The PFIPC saga is pure comedy but somebody must answer for that N1.3 billion

Yesterday the Head of Civil Service, Esther Walson-Jack, dropped a bombshell before the House committee investigating this PFIPC mess. She confirmed that the office space the so-called Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council was using at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja was actually allocated to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. So how did Adeniyi Adeyemi or whoever authorised him get access to that space and start operating a council that the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, says does not exist?

Gbajabiamila told the committee that he petitioned security agencies in October 2025 after forged appointment letters surfaced, and Adeyemi was charged with forgery, impersonation, and obtaining by false pretence. But Adeyemi is out here saying he is ready to clear his name in court. Meanwhile President Tinubu has ordered a probe. So we have a non-existent council, a man claiming to be its Director-General, N1.3 billion allocated in the 2026 budget for this phantom body, and office space at the Federal Secretariat that nobody can explain how he got.

The question is simple. Who in the OSGF approved the allocation of that office space to a council that the Chief of Staff says he never created? Because if Gbajabiamila is telling the truth, then somebody inside the system actively worked to set up this parallel structure and budget. And if Adeyemi is telling the truth, then Gbajabiamila has some serious explaining to do. Either way, N1.3 billion of our money was sitting in a budget for something that one of the highest offices in the land claims does not exist. Who is going to be held accountable for that?
