Peter Obi told Tinubu to retire. I think he is right.

I watched Peter Obi on Channels Television this morning and I must say, the man did not mince words. He said President Tinubu is tired and should step aside before 2027. Some people will call that disrespectful but when you look at the state of the country, can anyone honestly say the president has the energy this job requires?

Obi pointed out that the World Bank says 79% of Nigerians will face poverty. That is over 180 million people. He also mentioned that 35 million Nigerians are facing hunger according to the World Food Programme. These are not small numbers. These are our brothers and sisters. And while all this is happening, we have 40 people kidnapped in Zamfara on Wednesday and 50 more on Thursday. The president is thanking Donald Trump for commending his security efforts but people are being taken from their homes every day.

I am not saying Peter Obi is perfect. But when he says he will personally take responsibility for security and that if your people are dying you should be ready to die, that is the kind of language we need. Tinubu was a good governor of Lagos but that was 20 years ago. The man looks exhausted. Let him retire in peace. Be honest, can you look at the country today and say we are moving in the right direction?
