The ICPC found 908 ghost workers across 50 federal agencies, with the Nigeria Police Force alone accounting for 570, over half the total. Officials allegedly put relatives on payrolls and collected salaries for non-existent employees, recovering ₦942 million in fraudulent payments. If the police, who are meant to enforce the law, are the biggest offenders, what does that say about accountability in our system?
