Atiku paid $1.2m to US lobbyist and Presidency is furious

Sunday Dare, President Tinubu's media aide, came out yesterday and said Atiku Abubakar has hired a US lobbying firm for $1.2 million ahead of the 2027 elections. This is not small money o. The man is preparing for battle from Washington instead of facing Nigerians with his record.

Dare's statement was very sharp. He said Atiku is outsourcing political warfare to America and that it is an affront to Nigeria's sovereignty. He asked a question that made me think: where is Atiku's report card? If you want to lead this country, what have you done for us since 2019? Charity begins at home, not in Washington.

I have always respected Atiku as a businessman but this move looks like desperation. You cannot drag Nigeria into your personal vendetta. Nigerians are suffering and we need solutions, not lobbyists. What do you people think about this $1.2 million spending?
