The day my own aunty tried to steal my brand deal

Last year I got my first big brand deal as a content creator. I was so happy, I told my mum. Big mistake. My mother's 'well-connected' friend, Aunty Bose, suddenly started calling the brand manager.

She told them she was my 'manager' and tried to hijack the negotiation. She wanted to take 40% cut. I had to sit my mum down and explain that her friend was trying to use me. The family tension was real.

I eventually handled it myself and kept the deal. But that experience taught me something. Not everyone who smiles at your success wants you to win. Some people just want to sit at your table and eat your food.
