My husband's side business almost ended our marriage

My husband started a small pepper grinding business last year. He said it was to supplement his salary, make ends meet. I supported him, even helped him source a good machine from Wuse market.

But then the machine started living in our living room. Then our bedroom. Then he was coming home at 10pm smelling of pepper and diesel. I was handling bath time, homework, dinner, everything alone. When I complained he said I was not being supportive, that a good wife would understand.

I had to sit him down and explain that I married a man, not a business partner. That our daughter needs her father, not just a provider. The machine is now in a shop he rents with a friend. He comes home by 7pm. Sometimes we need to remind our husbands that presence is part of provision too.
