Japa or stay? I'm tired of pretending Lagos is worth it

My friend just sent me a video of her new apartment in Canada. Kitchen big enough to host a party. Rent that doesn't require selling a kidney. Meanwhile I'm here in Lekki paying ₦2.5m for a room where I can hear my neighbor's WhatsApp voice notes at 2am.

I know we say 'Lagos is a state of mind' but my mind is tired. The traffic, the noise, the landlord who shows up unannounced. People keep saying japa people are running from their problems. But what if the problem is just... this place?

Who else is genuinely considering leaving and not just for the gram? 😭
