Stanford experiment is happening in Nigeria right now and nobody is talking

I just read this article from Premium Times where Dakuku Peterside broke down how the Stanford Prison Experiment is basically playing out in Nigeria right now. He mentioned the correctional centres where people are getting tortured and extorted, the constituency projects that are distorting the federal budget, and the whole thing about the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. This is not just random corruption, this is a system that rewards loyalty over competence and silence over courage.

When I see how our institutions are running, I realise it's not just about bad individuals. It is about systems that make ordinary people do extraordinary evil things. The guards in that experiment were normal volunteers but within days they became abusive. Same thing happening in our prisons, our ministries, our budget offices. Cruelty becomes discipline, humiliation becomes procedure. Nobody even knows they are doing wrong anymore because the system has normalised it.

Am I the only one that sees this pattern or are we just going to keep pretending each scandal is separate?
