Last night my husband looked at my payslip and said, "Zainab, this is becoming too much." I thought he was joking at first. He said the money is making me too independent and I don't need him anymore. I just sat there looking at him.

I work in HR for a government parastatal, I have been there for 8 years. My salary is not even that big but it is steady. His business in Wuse has been struggling since last year. I have been quietly paying school fees and buying food without saying anything. Now he is saying my salary is a problem for him.
