My wife asked me to pray about her suspicious text messages

Nwanne, I am still trying to wrap my head around what happened this morning. My wife, Chioma, she is a pharmacist, very sharp woman. She came to me with her phone open and said, 'Emeka, I need you to pray for me. I have been getting these messages from a man I used to work with at the hospital. He is saying things that make me uncomfortable.'

I looked at the messages and my heart just sank. The man was asking her to 'come for a private consultation' at his place. She said she has been ignoring him but he keeps sending. Then she looked at me and said, 'I want you to pray that God gives me wisdom on how to handle this without causing trouble at my workplace.'

Chineke! I am her husband. Part of me wanted to go and confront this man. But another part of me, the part that counsels young people every week, knew that prayer was actually the right answer. So we prayed. But I am sitting here now thinking: when your spouse asks you to pray about a threat to your marriage, is that faith or is that you being too passive? I told her I trust her completely. And I do. But the feeling in my chest right now is not peaceful at all.
