So the man who leads Ebonyi is cruising around in a Rolls-Royce and bombproof SUVs worth billions, while kids in Izzi are learning under bamboo rafters they built themselves. And this is the same state that once blew N500m on a Hajj trip instead of giving a village clean water. We keep asking why the Southeast can't produce the human capital to compete, but the answer is staring us in the face, our leaders see education as a threat to their patronage, not a path to progress. If governors can find billions for their egos but nothing for a standard primary school, what does that say about their real agenda for the next generation?
