Wike says he pities Fubara, names the four men who deceived Rivers governor

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has finally opened his mouth and called out the people he says are responsible for the mess in Rivers State. Speaking on Saturday during a media chat in Port Harcourt, Wike named Edison Ehie, Chijioke Ihunwo, Victor Oko Jumbo and activist Ankio Briggs as the four close associates who have been feeding Governor Siminalayi Fubara with wrong advice and pushing him deeper into the political crisis.

According to Wike, these four individuals made Fubara renege on the agreements that followed the peace deal brokered by President Bola Tinubu. And here is the part that got me. Wike said, and I quote, "I feel for Governor Siminalayi Fubara because he is the biggest loser." Imagine that. The man who has been fighting Fubara left and right now says he pities him. That is how you know this Rivers drama has entered another level entirely.

Let us not forget the full picture. The face-off between Wike and his successor led to a political crisis so severe that President Tinubu imposed emergency rule on the state and suspended Fubara for six months. Despite defecting to the APC, Fubara could not even get a ticket for a second term. And just recently, he announced he has returned to Wike's political camp. So after all the fighting, after all the crisis, the governor is back where he started, and the people he trusted are the ones Wike says set him up. My question is simple. If these four men truly deceived Fubara, why did he listen to them for so long, and what does this return to Wike's camp actually mean for Rivers State?
