Wike says Fubara was used and the abusers are angry about money, not loyalty

Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, came out today in Port Harcourt and said something that will make Rivers people pick sides again. He claimed that the politicians who pushed Governor Siminalayi Fubara into the fight with him had no capacity to fight at all. According to Wike, they used Fubara, and now that Fubara has decided to return to his political family, those same politicians are raining insults on him because they have lost access to money.

Wike said, and I quote, "Unfortunately, they used Fubara. To tell you the truth, the governor over rated them. They had no capacity at all to fight and they saw it. Now, when the governor decided to return to his political family, go and see how they are abusing him now. Because there is no longer opportunity to syphon money so they are abusing him." That is a heavy accusation, and it is coming from a man who knows how power works in this country.

I have watched this Rivers drama since 2023, and one thing is clear: Wike is not a saint, but he is not stupid either. The people who surrounded Fubara, the so-called instigators, they are the same ones who were quiet when Wike was governor. Now they are shouting about democracy and federal might. Let us be honest, if they had the structure, the money, and the federal connections, would they be hiding behind the governor's office? The anger you are seeing now is not about betrayal, it is about the buffet closing. Am I the only one that thinks this is just a fight over who controls the state's resources, not about any political ideology?
