Onaiyekan says Tinubu is being shielded from the truth about our hardship

Cardinal John Onaiyekan has come out to say that those surrounding President Bola Tinubu are hiding the real state of Nigeria's hardship from him. After meeting with the president at Aso Rock, the Cardinal said the people around Tinubu are not telling him the truth about what Nigerians are going through daily. This is a man of God speaking plainly, and it confirms what many of us have suspected for a long time.

We are not fools. When the price of food and transport keeps rising and people cannot even feed their families, you cannot tell me the president does not know. But if the people around him are shielding him from the reality, then he is governing in a bubble. The Cardinal is right to call it out. I have lived in Ibadan all my life and I have seen governments come and go, but this level of disconnect is alarming.

Some will say the president is doing his best, that the economy is global, that things will get better. But when a respected religious leader like Onaiyekan has to publicly say that the president is being deceived by his own aides, it means the situation is dire. Be honest, do you believe Tinubu truly knows how bad things are for the common man, or is he being fed a false picture daily?
