So the Minister first said subsidy ends next year, then quickly turned around to say "no increase for now." Make up your mind. The power sector is drowning in over N3 trillion debt, Gencos claim it's N7 trillion, and the government is still paying N200 billion monthly to keep lights on for non-Band A customers. If subsidy is not ending and tariffs are not rising, then who is going to pay for all this? The real question is: can we trust any promise about electricity prices when the government has already shown it can flip-flop in one day?
