Fayose calls out Tinubu over hunger as area boys outnumber Peller wedding guests
3 months ago
Prince Isaac Fayose has hit President Bola Tinubu hard over the hunger situation in this country, and he used the Peller and Jarvis wedding as his evidence. In a video on his Facebook page today, Fayose said the area boys on the street were more than the invited guests at that wedding. He said, "I saw many good people there but I saw more of the area boys on the street. The area boys are even more than the guests. That shows that there is a massive hunger in the land."
Fayose did not stop there. He went for Tinubu's recent comment that hunger has existed since he was born. Fayose said, "Our President came out and said that before he was born, there was hunger. Now the hunger has tripled. There is no hunger in the UK and US but in his own dictionary, Tinubu said hunger has been there so why did he force himself into power to re-enthrone and reinforce hunger?" That is a sharp question. A man who claims hunger is a permanent feature of this country should not be surprised when people ask why he bothered to contest at all.
As an engineer who has spent decades watching governments come and go, I know that hunger is not a natural disaster. It is a policy failure. When a leader tells citizens that hunger has always been here, he is excusing his own lack of strategy. Fayose said Tinubu has no economic strategy to tackle the hunger, and I agree. The people running after cars at that wedding were not doing so out of joy. They were humbling themselves because they believe they were born to be hungry. That is the tragedy. An election is coming and they will form city boy, but the hungry man is too tired to even be angry. Be honest, is this the Nigeria we fought for?
