Wike fires back at Fubara: 'You are destroying your own second term'
Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has thrown the final punch in his ongoing war with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, saying the governor's decision to dismantle the political machinery that brought him to power has already cost him any chance of a second term.
Speaking during a live radio chat in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Wike said Fubara started distancing himself from his political base barely 100 days after assuming office. "Any elected official who abandons the platform that produced their mandate inevitably faces political isolation and diminished electoral viability," he warned.
Wike dismissed claims that his intervention was about personal or financial interests, insisting he is only defending the political structure he built. The feud has already paralysed legislative activities in Rivers State and triggered multiple court battles. How can a governor govern when the man who made him governor is now his biggest enemy?
