The morning I woke up to my shop padlocked and my brother's shame

Wetin I go tell you... this one pain me die. Na last year during raining season. I wake up early, pack my bag, ready to go market. My husband don already leave for work. I reach my shop for Agege Market, I see padlock. Big one. Landlord people don put am.

My heart drop. I know say I owe rent three months. But why? Because I loan my savings to one church sister. Sister Gladys. She say she get 'miracle investment' wey go double my money for two weeks. I be fool. I give am everything I save for years. She disappear. No phone, no trace. I hear she do same thing for three other women for our church.

E pain me die. I no fit pay rent. I no fit feed my children. I stand for front of my shop, people dey pass, dem dey look me. I dey cry inside. But I no fit show am outside.

I call my elder brother. The one wey I no talk to since our papa burial. Five years of silence because of land matter. I beg am. I say 'Brother, I need help. My children go hungry.' He no talk for long time. Then he say 'Blessing, why you no call me earlier?' He send money that same day.

That day I learn say pride na enemy. Family na family. The woman wey betray me, God go judge her. But my brother... he show me say love pass everything. 🙏
