🎖️CorporalThe day I convinced my father to sell our land and we almost lost everything

Two years ago, I was the smartest man in Lagos. I had just finished a gig, money was flowing, and I walked into my father's house in Akure with a business proposal. I told him, 'Baba, this fintech startup is the real deal. They're about to IPO. We sell the land, invest, and in six months we double it.' He looked at me for a long time. Then he said, 'You know this land is your mother's inheritance. But if you say so.' We sold it. Every penny went into that company. Three months later, the office was empty. The CEO's number was dead. My mother cried for two days. She kept saying, 'How can my son be this foolish?' My father didn't shout. That was worse. He just stopped talking to me for a month. I had to take every freelance job I could find, sometimes working 16 hours a day, just to buy back a smaller plot in the same area. It took me a year. When I finally handed him the new papers, he just nodded and said, 'Next time, ask questions before you jump.' I learned that day that street smarts don't mean you can't be played. And that family forgiveness is a gift you don't deserve but receive anyway.
