Tinubu told Umahi to keep building roads after staff died. Is this insensitive?

David Umahi is still the Minister of Works and he says President Bola Tinubu told him to ignore all the noise and keep building roads. This is after Mary Habila, a staff of the ministry, died at his private residence in June. The video of Umahi speaking dropped yesterday and the man is not even pretending to be shaken by the whole thing.

He said, "What surprised me was when people took the death of one of my best workers and started to play politics. They said the President should sack me. Why should he do so, for doing what? So anybody that is working with you that dies, then you must be sacked?" Then he added that Tinubu told him, "Dave, go and build more roads."

I don't know how to feel about this one. A woman died under circumstances that are still under investigation, and the President's response is basically "keep working"? That is either the strongest vote of confidence in history or the most insensitive thing I have heard this year. The investigation is still ongoing, nobody has said what really happened, but the man is already acting like the matter is closed. Be honest, if this was a junior worker in any ministry, would the President have said "go and build more roads"? Let's argue this.
