I collapsed in my shop last week. My body finally collected the bill for all these years of no sleep.

Last Tuesday I was arranging some tokunbo phones for display when the whole world just went dark. Next thing I know, I'm on the floor with my apprentice screaming my name and pouring water on my face. The doctor said it's stress, high blood pressure, and extreme fatigue. I'm 25 years old. My father was diagnosed with hypertension at 50. I beat him by 25 years.
See, this hustle life wey we dey live, we think say rest is for weak people. I wake up 5am, close 10pm, no break in between. I eat once a day most times. I calculate profit margins in my sleep. My body don dey send me signs small small. Headache wey no go. Chest pain wey I ignore. But I kept pushing because the money dey come. Then one day, the engine just cut off.
I'm not saying abandon your hustle. I'm saying the hustle wey kill you no be hustle. My sister called me crying from UNN, saying she'd rather drop out than lose me. That's when it hit me. What's the point of building an empire if I'm not around to enjoy it? God is involved in this wake up call. My new rule: Sundays are for church and sleep. No negotiations. Wetin dey your own life wey you dey ignore?
