Preaching inside Lagos bus? Our people don tire for that noise
3 months ago
I was on my way to Enugu yesterday, and the bus conductor decided to turn the journey into a church service. One man stood up, started shouting about fire and brimstone, then started collecting offering inside the bus. I just looked at my phone and prayed for traffic to clear.
Now I hear the National Assembly wants to ban preaching inside buses, and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria is saying it's an attack on religious freedom. They even said something about imprisoning 65 million Nigerians. Nwanne, I am a pastor, but I will tell you the truth: that kind of preaching is not winning souls, it is chasing passengers away.
The thing about life is, nobody likes to be ambushed with religion. You don't force the gospel on a man who just wants to get to work. If you truly have the anointing, the bus will stop for you, people will listen, and you won't need to beg for offering. Our people say, 'When you force a child to eat, he will vomit.' So I ask you, which side are you on? Should we allow the preaching or support the ban?
