EFCC freeze Osun state account few days to election, Adeleke don enter court

Osun state govment don start legal action against EFCC after di commission freeze dia bank account few days to di governorship election wey go hold on August 15. Governor Ademola Adeleke confam say dem receive letter from dia banker on Wednesday morning, and e say EFCC order di bank to put post-no-debit on di state statutory allocation account. Di letter wey Assistant Commander Adenike Babalola sign, dated August 5, 2026, dey reference Section 38 of EFCC Act and Section 24 of Money Laundering Act.

Adeleke don ask EFCC chairman Ola Olukoyede to explain to di good pipo of Osun State and Nigerians why dem freeze di account, and make e show proof to support whatever reason e present. E also say im don instruct im Attorney General, Oluwole Jimi-Bada, to challenge di illegality for federal high court Osogbo. Di governor dey claim say di freeze na part of series of battles wey dey confront di state, including gun attacks, paralysis of local govment system, and arrest of about 60 Accord members wey dem carry go Abuja without charges.

E dey point finger to former governor Gboyega Oyetola, di current minister of Marine and Blue Economy, saying all these intimidation and attacks dey happun on im order because im candidate no fit win.
