EFCC says no reason to freeze Ekiti account, but Osun got the hammer. Why?

The EFCC has finally spoken on why it froze Osun State government accounts days to the governorship election but left Ekiti alone. Wilson Uwujaren, the commission's Director of Public Affairs, said on Arise TV this morning that they simply had no incriminating information against Ekiti. He said, β€œWe didn’t have any reason to intervene in Ekiti the way we are intervening now in Osun. You don’t have access to information as we have. We are not targeting anybody but simply doing our job.”

So the commission wants us to believe that freezing a state government's account days before an election is just routine work. They did the same to Edo State and claimed they preserved N12 billion. But the timing here is what stinks. Osun is having a governorship election and suddenly funds are moving to suspicious accounts. In Ekiti, where the governor is from the same party as the President, nothing suspicious. Be honest, does anyone really believe this is not political? Or are we just supposed to swallow that EFCC only sees corruption in opposition states?
