Uzodimma tells Davido to sign Adeleke as dancer, this election don become comedy

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has fired back at Davido over the Osun State governorship election, and the reply is pure Nigerian politics at its finest. Uzodimma said Davido should stop appealing to him and instead focus on helping his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, prepare for life after office, because according to him, Adeleke will lose the August 15, 2026 election.

In a statement released through his aide Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, Uzodimma said, "Rather than attempting to influence Governor Hope Uzodimma through emotional appeals, Davido should concentrate on helping his uncle prepare for life after office, as the people of Osun appear ready to cast their votes massively in favour of the APC candidate." He even added a joke that Davido should start preparing to officially sign his uncle as a dancer in his band, because Adeleke may soon be out of a political job.

Now, I have seen many political exchanges in this country, but this one is particularly amusing. Here is a sitting governor telling an international music star that his uncle, a sitting governor, is about to lose his job. The arrogance is loud, but the confidence is even louder. What I want to know is, how many times have we seen these pre-election predictions backfire? The people of Osun will decide, not Uzodimma, not Davido, not even the APC campaign council. Be honest, are you confident Adeleke will survive this one, or is Uzodimma seeing something we are not?
