Atiku's aide just exposed the real power behind EFCC's Osun move

Demola Olarenwaju, the Senior Political Assistant to Atiku Abubakar, has publicly stated that President Bola Tinubu is the man behind the masquerade troubling Osun State. He posted this on X on Thursday, and he did not mince words. He said Tinubu is the one directing the EFCC's actions, and that Adeleke is not bold enough to name him.

Olarenwaju wrote, "Tinubu is the man behind the masquerade troubling Osun State and if Gov. Adeleke is not bold enough to name him, he should avoid any public genuflection or kowtowing to him until elections are done and the will of the peoples of Osun prevails against APC next Saturday." He also said this proves the EFCC acts at the discretion and direction of Tinubu, and may be used against opposition leaders in the future. This is consistent with Tinubu's "all is fair in politics" assertion, but inconsistent with democratic norms.

Now, I am not one to defend the EFCC blindly, but we need to ask ourselves: is it really Tinubu pulling the strings, or is this just political noise from an opposition camp that is desperate? The EFCC claims it froze those accounts to prevent diversion of funds, not to target anyone. But we have seen this movie before. The timing, the silence from Aso Rock, the way the agency suddenly remembers Osun exists right before an election. It stinks. Be honest, if this were a PDP government, would you be this quick to dismiss the accusation?
