Last year, my brother Tunde call me from Akure, voice shaking. Him POS business don collapse, him dey owe suppliers, them dey threaten him. I just land Lagos, e don take me months to save that money for my own rent. But na my brother. I send am 200k that same day. Na so I dey, I no even ask questions.Weeks later, I see am for Instagram. Tunde and his girlfriend for Dubai. Hotel, fine dining, shopping. I call am, he say na business trip. I said, 'Which business? The one wey don collapse?' He cut the call. My mother called me later, saying I should forgive him, that he's young.I no talk to am for three months. When I finally did, I told him I'm done funding his lifestyle. He apologized, said he was stupid. We're cool now, but the trust don change. I still check on him, but I no longer send money.Lesson: help family, but set boundaries. Love no mean you must be anybody's ATM. And if your brother say him dey do business, ask to see the books first.
