Japa people, stop lying to yourselves. London is not better than Lagos, it's just different suffering.

My dear, I dey here for Peckham, 18 years now, and I still remember how we used to hustle for Ibadan. People back home think we are swimming in money and comfort. Let me tell you the truth: I wake up at 5am for shift, I pay £1,800 for rent, and my children are more British than Nigerian. They don't even greet elders properly. Na wa oh.
But I no go lie, the system here works. You work, you get paid, your children can go to school without fear. But the cold, the loneliness, the way nobody knows your neighbour... e no easy. Meanwhile, Lagos people dey complain about traffic and fuel, but at least you have your people. When I visit home twice a year, I feel alive. The noise, the market, the food. My siblings think I'm rich because I send £200 monthly, but they don't know the stress.
So I ask you, if you had the choice, would you rather suffer in Nigeria with family and warmth, or suffer in London with money and isolation? I know my answer, but I want to hear yours.
