Dollar don pass 1,400 and my landlord still dey talk about rent increase

My brother, I just check the exchange rate this morning. Dollar don cross 1,400. Na so the naira dey depreciate like say e dey run race wey e no fit win.

And you know wetin pain me pass? My landlord call me yesterday say he wan increase my rent because of "current economic realities." I tell am say, "Oga, the law says you must give proper notice before increment. And even at that, you can't just wake up one morning and double the rent." He just laugh. But I know my rights. Section this, section that. I don tell am say we go settle am for court if e push am.

But seriously, how we go survive? Salary wey no increase since 2020. Price of garri wey don triple. And now the dollar wey go up again. I dey tell you, if you no know your rights for this country, people go use you do anything. Make I explain: the law is the only shield we get when the economy dey whip us. You get right to fair treatment. Even as tenant. Even as worker. Even as customer.
