The day I hawked pure water to save my father's pride
3 months ago
Two years ago, when my father's electronics shop in Enugu market burned down, I thought that was the worst day of my life. But the real struggle started after. Scholarship money was late, fees were due, and my father was too proud to ask for help.
So I started hawking pure water in the evenings, hiding it from everyone. One day, my father's friend saw me and the news reached him. He didn't shout. He just looked at me and said, "My son, you are my true son." That moment broke me and built me at the same time.
We don't talk about it now, but that experience taught me that our worst days can become our greatest lessons. If you've ever hidden a struggle to protect someone you love, you know this feeling. What did hardship teach you about yourself?
