Nigerian group chats are the only place where 'I'm on my way' means 2 hours

My guy, I don't know who needs to hear this, but our group chat is a lawless land. Yesterday, my friend Tunde said 'I'm on my way' at 4pm. By 7pm, he posted a picture of pepper soup from a buka we didn't even know existed. Nobody called him out. We just liked the picture and asked if he added cow skin.

The same people who will send 'where you dey?' and expect an immediate reply will vanish for 6 hours if they're the one being asked. And God forbid you ask for money in the group. The read receipts will light up like a Christmas tree, but replies? Zero. But if you post a meme about Asake, everybody suddenly has data.

We are a nation of people who lie about distance, time, and availability, but we will fact-check a gossip about a celebrity with the energy of a forensic scientist. It's giving double standard. I swear, if we channelled this energy into our jobs, Nigeria would be a superpower by now.
