One Nigerian girl finally wins our first-ever field event world title, and the whole country is supposed to clap? Meanwhile, our athletics system keeps producing stars by accident, not by design. If she can throw 18 metres on talent alone, imagine what she'd do with proper funding and grassroots support. So the real question is: are we ready to invest in these champions, or are we just waiting for the next miracle to happen?
