Atiku Demands Tinubu Name PFIPC Insiders, Says His Bank Details Leaked
3 months ago
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has fired back at the Presidency over the PFIPC scandal, and the man is not mincing words. In a statement issued yesterday by his spokesman Phrank Shaibu, Atiku revealed that an unidentified person transferred money into his strictly private bank account with the narration "Contribution Electioneering Campaign." He insists neither he nor his campaign organisation requested or approved the payment, and he is demanding to know how unknown persons obtained his confidential banking details.
Atiku is asking the hard questions: "How did unknown persons obtain the confidential banking details of a private citizen?" He warns that if the private banking information of a former Vice President can be accessed and deployed, then no Nigerian's financial privacy is safe. He also linked the leak to potential criminal activities like kidnapping, terrorism, and fraud. This is a serious allegation that should worry every single person with a bank account in this country.
On the ICPC interim report, Atiku says the Presidency cannot parade it as an exoneration when the report itself acknowledges "negligence and connivance" within government processes. He is demanding that President Bola Tinubu name the insiders who allegedly forged a presidential appointment letter, created a fictitious federal agency, and opened bank accounts using forged legislative instruments. His words: "A fake agency does not walk into government offices by itself. A forged appointment letter does not validate itself. Bank accounts do not open themselves. Behind every door that opened was a human being. Name them." So the question is, will Tinubu name them, or will this scandal disappear like so many others?
