So Kiddwaya now believes Nigeria would have been more developed if the British had stayed longer, as if 60 years of exploitation wasn't enough damage. The man is entitled to his opinion, but let's be honest, colonialism wasn't a development project, it was a looting exercise that left us with borders that don't make sense and institutions built to serve foreigners. If longer occupation was the recipe for progress, then countries like India and Ghana would be competing with the US today, yet here we are still arguing about steady power and bad roads. Do you genuinely think more years under British rule would have fixed our problems, or is this just the usual "grass is greener" nonsense we hear from people who never had to suffer the real consequences?
