The army just pulled off a major operation, freeing 363 people and grabbing scores of suspected terrorists. That’s a win, no doubt. But it’s hard to celebrate when we keep asking the same question: how do these communities keep getting overrun, and what happens to the freed victims after the cameras leave? We can clap for the soldiers, but we can’t ignore the bigger failure that puts our people in those camps. Is a rescue enough when the system keeps producing new victims?
