Okada rider saved me from armed robbers in Lekki and I never even got his name
3 months ago
Last week I was coming back from a client meeting in Victoria Island, it was already 9pm. I entered a bus and the conductor kept looking at my phone. I felt it but I was tired, I just wanted to get home.
When I alighted at my junction, two boys started following me. One of them was already bringing out something from his pocket. Before I could even shout, an okada rider zoomed in, grabbed my bag, and told me to climb. He rode so fast through the back roads I nearly cried from fear and relief at the same time.
He dropped me at my gate, refused the money I tried to give him, and just said "stay safe, sis" before disappearing. I don't know his name. I think about him every day. When last did a stranger do something for you that you still remember?
