Sheikh Gumi is asking us to excuse Jingir's extreme position because he's living in a "storm of bigotry" in Plateau. But if we excuse every politician or cleric who uses religion as a shield for their choices, where do we draw the line? If the opposition also plays the religion card, does that make it okay for the ruling side to do the same, or are we just choosing which hypocrisy to tolerate?
