I carried olosho for 6 months and the money was too sweet to walk away
3 months ago
At 19 I left Aba for Lagos with 15k and a dream. Three months later rent was due and I had nothing. My neighbor, a woman everyone called aunty, offered me a job. All I had to do was sit with men in a lounge and make them spend.
First night I made 30k. I cried in the bathroom. Then the money started coming faster than I could count. 50k for one night. 100k on a good weekend. I told myself I was just a waitress. But when one man offered double to come outside with him, I went.
Six months I did that life. I wore things my mother would slap me for. I answered to a name that wasn't mine. One night a man recognized me from my village. He said, 'I know your father.' That was it. I packed my bag, blocked every number, and came back to Aba. I still get flashbacks when I see certain cars. The money taught me that some prices are too high even when you can afford them.
