A sitting senator is on video telling his supporters to kill anyone from another party before Saturday's election, and frankly, nobody is surprised anymore. This is the same state where political violence has become the language of competition, where threats are issued openly and chiefs are warned to fall in line or face consequences. The question is not whether this man will face consequences , we all know how these things end , but how long we will keep pretending that elections in Nigeria are about votes and not about who can intimidate the most. When did we accept that "an eye for an eye" is a campaign strategy and not a crime?
