So we crashed out before the semis for the first time ever, lost our automatic World Cup ticket, and the best our captain can offer is "there is still hope"? Hope doesn't score goals, hope doesn't convert chances, and hope definitely doesn't win playoffs. We keep hearing the same song after every major tournament exit , "we gave everything" , but giving everything clearly isn't enough when Cameroon's keeper is doing her job better than our attackers do theirs. Is this really the standard we accept for a team that used to dominate African football, or are we just comfortable being the nearly-there nation forever?
