APC big guns storm Osogbo as Osun election tension reaches fever pitch

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Hope Uzodimma, and a host of APC governors have landed in Osogbo for a mega rally today, the final day of campaigning before Saturday's governorship election. The party is pulling out all the stops for its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, who is squaring up against incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party.

But here is the twist: this rally comes just days after the EFCC froze the Osun State Government's account, and President Bola Tinubu had to personally intervene to get it unfrozen. The Accord Party has been crying foul, accusing the APC of using federal might to suppress opposition. With violence already rocking the state in recent weeks, you have to wonder if this election will be free and fair or just another chapter in our sad political playbook.
