Ranoil, NIPCO, and others have slashed petrol to between N1,275 and N1,299 per litre in Abuja, following Dangote's N50 cut. That's a N11 to N25 drop in days, yet the real question is whether this competition will hold or just be a temporary show before prices climb back up.If the refineries and stations can suddenly afford to cut prices, why were we paying through the nose for months? Are these reductions a genuine market shift, or just a calculated move to keep us quiet while they still profit?
