Tinubu just tell EFCC to unfreeze Osun account, say timing embarrassing

President Bola Tinubu don order EFCC to go back to court and vacate the order wey dey freeze Osun State Government accounts. He say the timing, just days before the governorship election, fit make people think say federal government dey interfere with the poll. The man say he feel "deeply embarrassed" by the timing, even though EFCC act according to court order and their mandate.

EFCC don already defend themselves, say dem begin investigate Osun since March 2026 over alleged fraudulent handling of Ecology Funds, Intervention Funds and FAAC allocations wey reach about N11 billion. Dem say dem notice "precipitate and unwarranted" movement of public funds into corporate entities starting August 2, so dem freeze the accounts to stop looting. But Tinubu say the timing inauspicious, and nothing should give impression say EFCC or any federal agency dey used to interfere with election.

This one na rare move, because Tinubu say he no dey interfere with EFCC operations since he come office. But now he don step in, and e go ease tension for Osun. The question be say, if EFCC really catch Osun people for fraud, why now? And if Tinubu really no know about am, why e no wait until after election? Which one be true?
